Staff & Volunteers

The Gender Expansion Project is a volunteer run and operated organization. Our work is made possible solely through the hard work and devotion of  dedicated community activists, organizers and professionals. Founded in 2008, the Gender Expansion Project, originally known as MontanaTDOR, set out with a goal of providing better education around those of gender diversity to help facilitate a positive movement forward for the transgender community of Montana.

Since its founding, the Gender Expansion Project has expanded its outreach through the creation of the Montana Gender Alliance, the GEP Trans* Resource Guide, GEP Legal Name Change Guide, GEP Resource Program, GEP Referral Program, the GEP GenderSpectrum, formerly known as the Transgender Day of Recognition and our newest addition, the Gender Expansion Project Trans* Health Conference.

Today, t he Gender Expansion Project’s mission is to promote gender inclusive education and awareness surrounding transgender, transsexual, intersex and gender diverse people through evidence based care, education, research, advocacy, public and private policy and respect in transgender health and wellbeing.

We, as an organization, envision the future of the project bringing together diverse professionals dedicated to developing best practices and supportive policies and programs throughout Montana which promote health, research, education, respect, dignity and equality for transgender, transsexual, intersex and gender diverse people of Montana and beyond.
